The Sin of Disobedience is Dogma
Obedience and disobedience are two contrasting behaviors related to following or disregarding rules, authority, or instructions. Here are the main differences between the two:
Obedience
Compliance: Obedience involves complying with rules, orders, or commands given by an authority figure or a set of established norms.
Conformity: Obedience often entails aligning one's actions and behaviors with the expectations and directives of those in a position of authority or a social system.
Willingness to follow: Obedience typically reflects a willingness to follow instructions or rules, often out of respect for authority, a desire for social harmony, or a belief in the importance of adhering to established norms.
Consequences: Obedience is often reinforced by positive consequences, such as rewards or approval, or by the avoidance of negative consequences, such as punishment or disapproval.
Disobedience
Non-compliance: Disobedience involves deliberately not following or defying rules, commands, or authority.
Assertion of autonomy: Disobedience may be an expression of personal autonomy, independent thinking, or a rejection of oppressive or unjust rules and systems.
Questioning authority: Disobedience can arise from questioning the legitimacy, fairness, or validity of authority and norms and choosing to act differently.
Consequences: Disobedience can lead to negative consequences, such as punishment, criticism, or social sanctions, but it can also be a means of challenging and transforming unjust systems or advocating for change.

Autonomy
Autonomy refers to the capacity and right of individuals or entities to make decisions and act independently, free from external control or interference. It involves having the freedom to govern oneself, determine one's own choices, and exercise self-determination.
Self-Governance: Autonomy involves the ability to govern oneself and make decisions based on one's own values, preferences, and judgment. It implies an individual's capacity to think critically, reflect on options, and choose a course of action that aligns with their own desires and interests.
Independence: Autonomy implies a degree of independence from external influences or coercive forces. It suggests being free from undue influence, manipulation, or control by others, allowing individuals to exercise their own agency and make choices without being constrained by external factors.
Personal Responsibility: Autonomy comes with a sense of responsibility for one's own actions and their consequences. It involves recognizing the outcomes and impact of one's choices and being accountable for the results.
Respect for Others' Autonomy: Autonomy also entails respecting and acknowledging the autonomy of others. It recognizes that each person has the right to make decisions and live according to their own values, as long as they do not infringe upon the rights and autonomy of others.
